When to start on-campus Jobs:

    The best time to get a  part-time job on campus is during your second spring semester. Here are several reasons: First of all, by that point you will have already adapted to the requirements of American college study and the differences in culture at Rider. Second, you will have more spare time during the second spring semester. Last but not least, Your English will much better at that time, so you will have more confidence to work on campus

 

Where can you find jobs?

    You can stop by the following offices to ask for a part time job on Campus.

   SRC

   OIT office

   Mail House

   Security Office

   Library circulation desk

   Student Success Center in BLC third Floor

   Education Office in Memorial Hall

   Financial Office in BLC third Floor

   Budget Office in First Floor of Library

   Accounting Office which is next to Bookstore

 

The methods you can find a part-time job:

    1. Websites

www.rider.edu/careerservices

    2.  E-mail

  You can search for the email addresses of directors in different offices, and email  them  your resume.

    3. Stop by

  You can stop by the offices  mentioned above with your simple resume.

 

Steps before starting a part time job:

     1. Apply for jobs in different departments and get a job[JL1]

     2. Talk to your supervisor and apply for a Social Security Card

    As long as you have a job, you can get an employment letter from your supervisor. Then you take the letter, your passport, and DS2019 form to apply for the Social Security Card in the Social Security Office. You can take bus 606 or ask friends to drive you there.

       3. Fill in three forms in the department of disbursement.

       4. You are ready to work legally.

 

How can you get on the payroll?

    You have two ways to get on the payroll. The first one is going to the Cashier’s Office (BLC third floor) to pick up your paycheck. Another option is asking the cashier to transfer  your wages to your bank account directly. However, you should make sure that you get your initial  wages from the Cashier’s Office in BLC.

 

The Payment level:

            There are five payment levels on campus.

            1st level: $7.25/hour

            2nd level: $7.70/hour

            3rd level: $8.65/hour

      4th level: 8.90/hour

            5th level: $9.40/hour
